Concept model overview

After the systems engineering models are imported into MCD, you create a concept model to establish a basic physical machine concept model based on the systems engineering models. During the concept model development, you can:

  • Create basic assemblies with simple geometry and physics to apply motion to the model.
  • Apply sensors, conditional statements, and expressions to control the model.
  • Use MCD simulations to evaluate concept designs early in the development process.

The concept model design process moves from the systems engineering models into a lightweight, motion-capable physical model, which is then refined and validated with early simulations before moving on to detailed modeling.
