Signal
Use the Signal command to create a Mechatronics Concept Designer signal to monitor or control physics objects' runtime parameters. You can create boolean, integer, double word, string, and array signals. Use signals internally to control mechatronics, like starting or stopping a motor.
You can also use signals externally to integrate with the following protocols:
- MATLAB
- OPC DA
- OPC UA
- PLCSIM Adv
- Profinet
- SHM
- TCP
- UDP
You can choose names for signals from a symbol table or name them manually. The signal unit that you assign in Mechatronics Concept Designer is maintained as the output unit, so you can exchange data between Mechatronics Concept Designer and external signals without having to convert units externally.
Note: When you select a physics object, you can use the Display Icon list to filter which objects display in the graphics window.
