Speed Control dialog box
Reference for the fields and options in the Speed Control actuator dialog box — the actuator used to drive a joint with speed (and, via limits, torque/force) as the controlling parameter.
Physics Object
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Select Object | Lets you select a joint to move using the actuator. |
| Axis Type | Available when a Basic Joint—cylindrical joint is selected. Specifies the axis type as angular or linear. |
| Direction | Available when a transport surface is selected. Lets you set the direction of a transport surface. |
Virtual Axis
Available when a virtual axis is selected as the physics object.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Axis Type | Lets you filter axes in the graphics window. |
Constraints
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Speed | Sets the constant speed of the movement. |
| Limit Acceleration | Lets you enter a Max Acceleration value. |
| Limit Jerk | Available only when Limit Acceleration is selected. Lets you set a Max Jerk value to limit the rate of change of acceleration. |
| Limit Force | Available when Axis Type is set to Linear. Lets you set force limits for forward and reverse directions, and select a signal to compare to the force of the actuator to determine if the motor is overloaded. |
Graph View
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Motion characteristics graph | Displays motion characteristics based on the Constraints group values. |
Name
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Name box | Sets the name of the actuator. |
