Logical dialog box
Reference documentation for every control in the Logical creation/edit dialog box in Mechatronics Concept Designer.
Parent Selection
| Control | Description |
|---|---|
| Select Parent Logical | Lets you select the parent logical for this logical. |
| Select Classification (Teamcenter Integration only) | Lets you select a classification for this logical and sets the Aspects, Letter Code, and Teamcenter Classification Attributes based on the classification you select. |
Reference Designation
Aspect — Specifies the aspect type for the logical:
- Assignment — Describes the entire architecture of the mechatronic system.
- Function — Describes how the architecture of the mechatronic system is implemented.
- Location — Describes the location of the mechatronic system's components.
- Products — Describes the purpose and type of component.
Letter Code — Specifies the letter reference designation for the logical.
Note: Letter codes are based on IEC 81346.
Logical Type
Logical Type — Specifies the logical type for the logical given its aspect. Does not apply to aspects as specified by mechatronics_logical_configuration.xml.
Parameters
| Control | Description |
|---|---|
| Parameters table | Displays the parameters of the logical added using Add Parameter. The parameter is edited in the table. |
| Add Parameter | Lets you add new parameters to the parameters table. |
Attributes (Teamcenter Integration only)
| Control | Description |
|---|---|
| Teamcenter Classification Attributes | Opens the Attributes dialog box and lets you view and modify the classification attributions located in Teamcenter. |
| Teamcenter Form Attributes | Only available when the Function and Logical forms are specified. Opens the Attributes dialog box so that you can view and modify form attributions that are located in Teamcenter. |
Note: You cannot add or delete form attributes — form attributes are strictly view/edit-in-place, reflecting that the form's attribute set is governed by the Teamcenter form definition, not by the MCD client.
Synthesis: how the dialog encodes the Teamcenter/native duality
This single dialog box surfaces both native NX fields (Parent Selection, Aspect, Letter Code, Logical Type, Parameters) and Teamcenter-only fields (Select Classification, Teamcenter Classification Attributes, Teamcenter Form Attributes) side by side, gated by whether you are running Teamcenter Integration for Designcenter NX. This is the concrete mechanism referenced in "Create a logical" and "Classify a logical in Teamcenter Integration for Designcenter NX" — classification selection auto-populates Aspect/Letter Code/Logical Type/Parameters from the Teamcenter Reuse Library, while manual Parameter entry remains available as a native fallback.
