Logical shortcut commands

Use logical blocks to define modules or functional units when you implement functions. Logical blocks are commonly described by a characteristic noun. A logical model captures a design solution on an architectural level.

Logicals can be created directly in Teamcenter, or in Designcenter NX (which you can export as an XML file). Logicals created in Teamcenter can only be opened in Teamcenter Integration for Designcenter NX — this is an important asymmetry in the sync model: a Teamcenter-authored logical model is not freely interchangeable with a native/local NX logical model; it requires the Teamcenter Integration mode of Designcenter NX to open.

Native Designcenter NX shortcut commands (no Teamcenter)

For the Logical folder in the System Navigator:

  • Open Logical Model
  • Export XML file
  • Add New Logical

For a logical:

  • Add New Logical
  • Edit Logical
  • Rename Logical
  • Delete Logical

Teamcenter Integration for Designcenter NX shortcut commands

For the Logical folder in the System Navigator:

  • Open Logical Model
  • Add New Logical
  • Refresh Logical Model

For a root logical or logical child node:

  • Add New Logical
  • Add Existing Logical (root logical only)
  • Add Classified Logical
  • Edit Logical
  • Rename Logical
  • Delete Logical
  • End Tracelink (logical child node only)
