Create a speed control actuator

Procedure

  1. Choose Home tab → Electrical group → Speed Control.

  2. In the graphics window, select the angular joint you want to move using the actuator.

You can also select a joint in the Physics Navigator, from the Joints and Constraints folder.

  3. In the Constraints group, set the following:

    • Speed = 60
    • Limit Acceleration = (checked)
    • Max Acceleration = 20
    • Limit Jerk = (checked)
    • Limit Torque = (checked)
  4. In the Name box, type a name for the actuator, and then press Enter.

  5. Click OK.

Note: the Speed Control command lives in the Electrical command group on the Home tab, alongside the other internal-motor-style actuators (Force/Torque Control, Position Control) — reflecting that it models an internal electric drive rather than a purely mechanical constraint.
