Defining time-based and event-based behaviors

After you define the kinematics and create actuators to move the joints in the system, you can use the Operation command to define the basic time-based and event-based behavior.

Examples of uses

• Activating a Transport Surface for a specific time period.
• Creating a condition statement so a Speed Control actuator stops if a Collision Sensor is activated.
• Changing the mass of a rigid body when it contacts a sensor.

You can manage the sequence of operations in the Sequence Editor as you would a Gantt chart.

To create sequences, you can use a Linker so the first operation must occur before the next operation.

Exporting time-based data

You can export time-based data to a text file, including:

• Step number
• Number of preceding operations
• Operation start time
• Duration of the operation
• Total time elapsed by the end of an operation
• Names of conditional objects and parameters assigned to operations
