Pause a simulation on an event

This example shows how to pause a runtime simulation based on a condition. You can pause the simulation based on the following values:

  • Mass
  • Orientation
  • Velocity
  • Activity

Note: To create this operation, you must create the proper body types, joints, and actuators.

Procedure

  1. Choose Home tab → Automation group → Operation.
  2. In the Type group, from the list, select Pause Operation.
  3. In the Condition group, select Select Condition Object.
  4. In the graphics window, select the object to monitor to cause the simulation to pause. An IF condition is created for the selected object in the Condition table.
  5. In the Condition table, do the following to create a condition:
    • Click the object's Parameter cell and select the type of property you want to monitor.
    • Click the object's Operator cell and set the start condition operator.
    • Click the object's Value cell and set the activation value.
    • Click the object's Unit cell and set the unit type.
  6. In the Name group, type a name, and then click OK.
