Object Source
Use the Object Source command to create multiple instances of the same object. Use this command to model material flow in a mechatronics system.
You can create new instances at a specific time interval or use runtime parameters to trigger object sources.
Runtime parameters
Use the Runtime Inspector to access the following runtime parameters during a simulation:
- source type — Lets you determine if an object is a source component or an instance.
- object instance number — Lets you view and utilize the instance number assigned to an object source instance.
You can track the instance number of instances produced by an object source. For example, you can use the instance number in a conditional statement to determine when your model should begin a new process.
Tracking instances
You can also use sensors, such as the generic sensor and inclinometer, to track the position of instances during a simulation. For example, you can use sensors to detect the position of generated instances as they move through a system.
