Configure a PLCSIM Adv instance

This example shows how to configure a PLCSIM Adv instance for use with Mechatronics Concept Designer.

Note: You must set up the virtual PLC environment prior to configuring the instance.

Procedure

  1. Choose Home tab → Automation group → External Signal Configuration.
  2. Click the PLCSIM Adv tab.
  3. In the Instances group, click Add Instance.
  4. Select a PLCSIM Adv V2.0 instance from your library.
  5. In the instances table, select the instance that contains the tags you want to use, and then click Refresh the Selected Instance Status to update the PLC instances.
  6. In the Tags group, in the Selected column, select the check box of the tags you want to include in the configuration.

    Tip: To select all the tags for inclusion in the configuration, select the Select All check box above the table.

  7. From the Cyclic list, select No Syn so Mechatronics Concept Designer exchanges data for each MCD step.
  8. Click OK.
