Classify a logical in Teamcenter Integration for Designcenter NX
Procedure
In Teamcenter Integration for Designcenter NX, double-click a logical in the System Navigator.
In the Logical dialog box, in the Classification group, click Select Classification.
In the Reuse Library, select a classification.
The Aspect, Letter Code, and Logical Type, and the parameters in the Parameters group, are set based on the selected classification.
Click OK.
Why this matters for Teamcenter sync
Classification is the mechanism that connects a logical block to a governed, reusable Teamcenter classification taxonomy (surfaced through the Reuse Library). Selecting a classification doesn't just tag the object — it drives the population of core logical attributes:
- Aspect
- Letter Code (the IEC 81346 discriminator)
- Logical Type
- The full Parameters set for that logical block
This means classification-driven creation is the standard way discipline-specific parameter sets get attached to a logical block when working against Teamcenter (as opposed to manually setting Aspect/Letter Code and adding parameters one at a time, as described in "Create a logical").
